Despite the business of August (SO GLAD this month is pretty much done), I did manage to get a few pins done, though not as many as I had hoped.
- The most obvious one was the watermelon cake, which I first discovered on Pinterest last year. I loved, loved, loved this and I thought it was perfect for B’s birthday.
- I also got some Etsy inspiration for the favors (though my little notebooks weren’t quite as artsy).
- I also made some homemade shampoo. This stuff foams like crazy and a little does go a long way, but I wasn’t crazy about it. I decided to give the no-poo method (using baking soda and apple cider vinegar) another shot this month as I found a possible workaround for hard water…we’ll see how that goes. I’m finally getting my hair cut next week. I realized yesterday that it’s been nearly ten months since I last went to a stylist. Obviously I’m still trying to work out being a mom and also not looking like a blob all the time. The blob seems to be winning.
- We made this apple crisp snicker-doodle crumble a few days ago. I liked it but E didn’t, though it may have been more due to our choice of apples (sunset) than the recipe itself. We also used coconut sugar as we had no sucanat and I don’t like the taste of honey mixed with apples. I’ll probably try it again with a different apple.
September is a much quieter month around here so hopefully I can fit in a few more next month. 🙂
