I need to start keeping track of what finds on Pinterest I actually do each month because I had to scroll back through all of my pins just to remember what I’ve done this month…which wasn’t much. Seriously, how is it nearly July already?
Here are the pins I tried:
- Homemade Shower Cleaner – I’ve seen this one going around for a while but never tried it as I don’t have any blue dawn in the house. I decided to bite the bullet, though, and use the dishsoap I do have to see if that would work. I also had to heat the vinegar on the stove since we don’t have a microwave. It worked….sort of. It did get rid of a lot of the soap scum and stains, but it didn’t coat well so there are still spots where it didn’t land….which actually makes it look worse than it did before as instead of being a uniform stain, it’s now a half clean/half stained mess. Still, I’ll probably keep doing this until all the stains are gone. I HATE scrubbing tubs (as is evidenced by the stains in the first place :))so this isn’t a bad workaround.
- How to Change a Bike Tire From Mountaint to Road – The last time I was on my bike before B was born, I literally nearly passed out, so I was a little wary of getting on it again even though I really wanted to get a little bike seat for him and take him around the neighborhood. I started to look for a new, non-mountain bike, but the ones I liked were really pricey and I couldn’t justify the expense. So I found this tutorial on switching your mountain bike to more of a road bike, picked up some great slicks and a little chair for B, and, voila! It works wonderfully and both B and I really like it.
- How to Make a Ginger Bug – I made a ginger bug earlier in the month with every intention of making some root beer for Father’s Day, but it’s still just sitting in the fridge. I also haven’t fed it in a few weeks….oops. This one was a fail.
- How to Make and Use Wool Dryer Balls – I made six little wool balls using this tutorial with two skeins of yarn and they work surprisingly well. Unfortunately, B likes to play with them so I’m missing a few now. I’ll probably pick up some more wool one of these days and make new ones as well as add more to the ones I already made. I didn’t follow the directions exactly in that I was too lazy to hook the yarn under with a crochet hook (I couldn’t be bothered to get it out of my craft bin), but I wish I had as one of the balls did end up falling apart. Live and learn.
More plans for next month!
