I’m one week out from the Charlotte Mason Educational Retreat and still in recovery mode. This year, bouncing back has taken a little bit more time than years previous, which I think is my body’s way of telling me I have way too much on my plate right now. I think I need to do some evaluating…
Here are some links for your (theoretical) downtime during the weekend!

Best Library Hacks for Homeschoolers (from a Librarian!) I could wax poetic for hours about how much I love the library, but there were still a few new things on this list to me (#2!). I would also add to see if your library has a used books section. I’ve gotten many, many of our curriculum books at excellent prices thanks to this little room!
I Prayed for Friendship; God Gave Me Sisterhood There are so many things about this post that I can relate to…
Someone Has More Than You. Get Used To It. “I may take this moment to declare another truth. Not only is there someone in this world with more than you, there is someone in this world with less than you. There is someone in this world with less than you who is perfectly content and happy because they have chosen to be happy right where they are, rather than comparing their lives to someone with more. There is someone in the world with more than you. But you have many reasons to be grateful. And you have everything you need to find happiness. So stop comparing.”
Stressful Narrations: Whose fault is this anyway? “Have you ever lost your patience with a child during a narration? Have you ever been discouraged because the narration didn’t seem good enough…too short, too long, too many missing “important” details, too many mispronunciations, or maybe a complete inability to narrate? Have you ever been tempted to ‘help’ your child along, knowing you were violating some of Miss Mason’s principles, but, really, ‘just this once (or twice) it is going to be OK because we are going to LEARN from it.’ I have, and I have a feeling I’m not alone.”
Amazon First Reads Did you know if you’re an Amazon Prime member, you can get access to one free Kindle book per month? Choose from five new books picked by Amazon’s editors! I’m definitely bookmarking this page.
