Today is Good Friday, the day in the church calendar that we remember Christ’s death on the cross. In the past, we’ve gone for a hike and made hot cross buns to have with tea in the afternoon, though in this time of face masks and social distancing (and potential rain for us today), I’m not sure how it will look this year. But I am thankful for His sacrifice today. And thankful that He is bigger than the coronavirus.

Welcome To Homeschooling I know the whole everyone-schooling-at-home and distance-learning changes in our society started a few weeks old (and are thus ancient history), but I think this advice from Brandy is appropriate even for seasoned homeschoolers in these uncertain times…. “Real education, however, requires a rested, peaceful state of mind. Emergency homeschooling is different from regular homeschooling because it’s disorienting and unexpected. It’s okay to put everything aside and take a walk or jump on the trampoline or pray an extra prayer. Mom must have her own heart under control in order to teach well. Do what it takes to build your day in a peaceful way; anxiety is not the proper context for learning.”
Printable Moon Cycle Tracker This free printable is a lovely little way to learn about the cycles of the moon!
Anxious “The reality is that God is bigger than the coronavirus. Humankind has been through numerous pandemics of this nature, along with wars, natural disasters, and other devastations. This is not the first time, and it will not be the last. But our God is stronger, and his plan is bigger. We see the short game (this lifetime), but he sees the long game (eternity). We know only our own strength (as individuals and communities), but he holds the power of the universe. We can trust in him, even when we feel afraid. Someday it will all be more clear. For now, we have what we need, one moment at a time.”
