It was a week of firsts for us these last few days as B earned his first NFS Junior Ranger badge last Sunday and Monday he lost his first tooth! I was all set to save it forever in eternal mother sentimentality, but then he ended up swallowing it….and I don’t know if I’m that sentimental. Still, there’s a part of me that’s a little sad….I remember when that tooth came in!
Here are links around the internets that caught my eye this week for your leisurely weekend.
National Forest Service Junior Ranger Program. At least one of the National Parks (Bent’s Old Fort in La Junta, Colorado) has free entrance this year in honor of the service’s 100th birthday, so I’m guessing there are other parks that are free as well (though definitely not all of them). We’re going to try and take advantage of this and get as many badges as we can for B’s little Junior Ranger backpack!
Obituaries My Mother Wrote for Me While I Was Living in San Francisco in My Twenties. The last two are the best. 🙂
Guarding Your Child’s Digital Footprint. Some great advice. This is why, among other reasons, I don’t post pictures of the kids’ faces, use their names, or talk about them much.
