Image Dump: June 2016

So the old house went up for sale last Thursday, we had an open house on Saturday, and it was under contract (a cash offer for a LOT more than we asked) on Monday. The inspection was today and we should be (fingers crossed for this very paranoid girl – I’m probably driving our realtor crazy) closing on the 28th…..FAST. E also left for a business trip today ( 🙁 ), and I have actually had to put new clients on a waitlist now, so life is, you could say, a little busy these days. As such, I haven’t had much time to sit and write anything. I have, however, had time for pictures!

Here are a few scenes from our life lately….

B climbing the rocks to feel moss at our potential new nature hike trail. He was very impressed by the moss. I wonder if it’ll still be there in the middle of the summer when it’s 3 million degrees outside.

We took a little ride to meet some friends at the history museum in our old town (a slightly bittersweet trip) and I managed to get one picture….of the windmill. 🙂

Bent’s Old Fort, where we got B’s first Junior Ranger Badge.

Despite the fact the whole fort had to be completely rebuilt from the ground up in the 1970s (whoever was there last in the 1800s apparently burned it to the ground before they left), it looked pretty authentic to me.
Violet-green Swallow. - ahumbleplace.com
A blog post with gratuitous photos on my site wouldn’t be complete without at least one bird image. This is one of the many violet-green swallows that dive-bomb E’s head when he’s taking out the trash in the morning. They’re pretty.

I used to lament the fact that B had no idea what a mud pie was. They discovered them this week and spent an entire day making them. ❤️

A pine tree at the Florissant Fossil Beds where we got B’s second Junior Ranger Badge.

And one of the petrified trees at the Florissant Fossil Beds. Apparently the settlers, when they first arrived, tried to cut these up as souvenirs and to sell to places back east, but their saw blades got stuck in them. There was one with the blades still in it.

Rocky Mountain National Park. I never get tired of this place. We got B’s third Junior Ranger Badge while we were there.

At Rocky Mountain National Park. I’m not sure what they were doing out there, but I’m sure they had a great view.

I kid you not, this was taken last weekend. The amount of late snow Colorado has gotten this year has been insane.

One last view of falling snow before we left the park.
