System Status: May 2013
This month flew by, which I’m prone to say at the end of every month, but still…..it flew by! And here we are at the beginning of summer again!
In the end of May I am….
…reading Glimpses of Grace by Madeleine L’Engle. She was one of my favorite authors when I was growing up (and actually wrote my very favorite book), so when I saw this suggested on The Better Mom blog and found it on PaperbackSwap, I picked it up. Some of the entries have been very insightful and some not so much for me, but it’s been neat to read her work again. Makes me want to read other things by her.
…watching the last of the regular season shows (Community, Parks and Recreation, The Middle, Castle, and, of course, The Office, were a few we followed this season). We canceled our Hulu Plus subscription this week and switched to Netflix for the summer, so now we’re catching up on the last season of Eureka and all of the new Arrested Development episodes. I’m also looking forward to some good movies! Any recommendations?
…loving this month’s Olive Box! I often get cash for birthdays and holidays, so I’ve been using that to get myself surprises in the mail every month so it still feels like I’m getting a gift. This month was Snail Mail My Email, a “happy mail” sticker set, a letterpress “Keep in Touch” card from Belle and Union, and some awesome wooden mechanical pencils that look like…pencils. I like surprises in the mail. 🙂
…eating the first share of our chicken CSA, which we picked up on May 15th from very friendly people at the Boulder County Farmer’s Market. At nearly six pounds, these chickens are massive and quite tasty too. I think we’ll be doing this one again next year. Our veggie CSA starts this week and I’m interested to see how it goes as this is a new farm for us.
…looking forward to summer! I always make lots of plans at the beginning of the summer and rarely follow through with even half of them. I still follow the same pattern every year though. This year includes camping at least a few times, getting B outside more (I have to be very intentional about this as we don’t have a yard), and hopefully at least a few good books.
And there you have the state of the Reb. 🙂
